Table Security

The security features discussed in this section apply to managing privileges for user accounts internal to Caspio Bridge.  This is used for accounts that have multiple Caspio Bridge user accounts and is not to be confused with end-user profiles, security or privileges.  If you are the only Caspio Bridge developer for your organization these features are not necessary to implement.

Steps to enabling Caspio Table Security:

1.     Create more than one login account

To control access to a table you must have more than one Caspio Bridge user account already created.

2.     Open the Privileges window

The most commonly protected table is the authentication table; however, you can limit access to any of your tables.  Single click on the table, then click on the Privileges button.  The Privileges button is pictured to the right.

3.     Add the group or user into the Privileges window

Click the Add button to open the Add Members window.  You will see all of your available users and groups in the top panel.  Click the second Add button to move specific users into the lower panel.  Click the Okay button to move back to the Privileges window.

4.     Remove the Everyone group

To apply specific privileges to subgroups and individual users you must remove the Everyone group or remove all of its privileges from the Everyone group.

5.     Adjust the privileges as desired

For each table or view, you can associate specific privileges to each subgroup or user. Select the desired table or view and click the Privileges button to open up the Privileges dialog box for the selected object.

You can also hide the table entirely from users by removing all access privileges. Remember these privileges only apply if the user is not a member of the Administrators group, because this group has unrestricted access to manage privileges.

Summary

Caspio Bridge allows multiple administrative accounts.  This allows multiple people in your organization to have access to and develop apps using a single Caspio Bridge subscription.  You can also, as the account administrator, reduce access to sensitive data or files.  Caspio Bridge gives you granular control over all of the Caspio Bridge user accounts you create.
