Blocking Spam with CAPTCHA
Because Caspio Apps are embedded into your web pages and do not contain static inline objects like traditional HTML forms, it is unlikely that malicious bots will be able to locate, crawl or auto-complete your Web Forms. However, if you do see an increase in spam (unsolicited commercial email) you can add additional protection using CAPTCHA. CAPTCHA stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart". If you have already filled out an online form, you have most likely seen an example of it. Adding CAPTCHA to your DataPages is both simple and fast.

Steps to add CAPTCHA to a Web Form
1. Proceed to a Configure Fields screen
In the Caspio Bridge Explorer window, open the DataPage wizard of either an existing DataPage by clicking Edit, or of a new DataPage by clicking New. Proceed to a Configure Fields screen. You can add CAPTCHA to search pages and details pages, but it is most commonly added to Web Forms.
2. Add CAPTCHA using the insert button
Click the Insert button located at the lower right corner of the DataPage Elements panel. Select the CAPTCHA option to add this element. Use the up and down arrow buttons to place the CAPTCHA at your desired location (usually at the bottom).

3. Configure your CAPTCHA settings
You can modify your CAPTCHA settings to increase the length of the security code, change the background, and display only digits. Enable Audio is checked by default. This option gives access to people who use screen readers to access the internet. The Download Plugin link provides a download link to an audio program (QuickTime) that can be used to hear an audio recording of the security code. When complete, click Finish to save your DataPage.
