Data Grouping
With Advanced Reporting, the records in Tabular Reports can be grouped based on identical field data. For example, all records with “California” in the State field can be organized in a clear group. If your data is date-based, you can use the Date rollup feature to group records by a portion of the date field (such as hour or month). Data Grouping also allows you to create collapsible groups, and with the addition of Totals & Aggregation, you can hide each record group and only view the results of sum totals or other aggregation calculations.

Grouping Options
In the Configure Results Page Field screen of the DataPage Wizard, select a field from the DataPage Elements panel and you will notice a new Grouping tab to the immediate right of the Standard tab.
To create a record grouping, select a field from the DataPage Elements panel. Click on the Grouping tab and check the checkbox labeled “Enable data grouping by this field”.

The Grouping display dropdown allows you to select how you would like the group to be displayed.
- Standard results set – A standard results set shows the records in a non-collapsible format below the group label.
- Collapsible group – A collapsible group gives you a control to hide and show the records for each individual group. You can also select if you would like the group to be expanded or collapsed by default.
Date Data Groupings
If you are grouping by a date/time field you have some specialized options.

Group date by:
- Whole Field – Will group data by the whole date (not including time data).
- Date Rollup – Will group date based on a specific subsection of the date/time data and disregard all other portions:
- Year
- Month
- Weekday
- Hour
Grouping Style
New style settings have been automatically added to unmodified Caspio Bridge Styles to control the look and feel of the results page grouping. If you have modified your pre-existing Styles or Localizations and would like to migrate to latest versions, you can download the latest Styles and/or Localizations and import to your account selectively.
