Caspio Bridge 7.0
Data Hub – Scheduled Import/Export Tasks
Automatically transfer data files to and from your account.
Caspio already supports data import and export using one of the widest ranges of file formats available. A truly powerful addition to Caspio’s feature set is the new DataHub feature to create scheduled import/export tasks. Available as a add-on feature , DataHub allows you to configure your Caspio Bridge account to automatically import and export files from outside locations.
Creating a planned import schedule methodically ensures your app includes your most current data hosted on a server outside of your Caspio Account. A scheduled export task creates a guaranteed, recurring backup of the data your web application collects. Data exported through scheduled tasks can even be delivered directly via email.
Targeted task results emails can be sent to multiple recipients with information about task completion. Task rotations can be configured monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, or anytime on-demand giving you amazing control to create a fully automated data control system.
This release includes several high-level security enhancements ensuring your authenticated web applications circumvent potential leaks created in the design process.
Single Session Authentication
Now you have a way to discourage authenticated users from sharing their login information. The new “Single Session” feature enforces the boundaries of individual user identification by making sure that login credentials provide folder access for only one user at a time.
If a second user attempts to log into an authenticated folder using the same credentials, the first user will automatically lose access. This way you can be sure that user credentials are not being widely distributed. When user access information is an important concern, you can also monitor application login history using the user logs feature.
“Password” is the new special field data type which allows your password data to remain hidden and encrypted even when opened within your Caspio account. Password field data can only be exported as Caspio XML and even then, the data remains encrypted and fully protected. The Password data type ensures that your user login information maintains total integrity. This security feature contributes to user confidence in the total security of the web applications you’ve created with Caspio Bridge.
Enhanced Authentication Security
Express authentication can still be implemented in a flash. The available fields for the Username authentication criteria have now been limited to only fields with the “Unique” attribute. This ensures that users do not inadvertently gain access to a identically named profiles. This previous “best practice” is now a requirement on all newly authenticated folders.
In conjunction with the new Password data type we’re excited to extend the functionality of Password Recovery DataPages to include Password Reset for Password type fields. Whenever password data is compromised or lost, users can go to a Password Recovery DataPage to invalidate their current password. A custom email is then sent containing a unique reset hyperlink so the user can reset their password. Password Recovery DataPages are now more robust to provide a simple, standard, and fully secure system of password management; and they can be fully implemented in only minutes.
Export View Data
Join related records from multiple Tables and export the results
Views filter records and combine related records from two or more tables. They are automatically compiled whenever they are referenced giving you immediate access to data from multiple sources. Now you can not only use this data in your DataPages, but also export this combined data directly using the data export wizard. Use this data for backup purposes as well as in other applications. To export your view data select “Export Data” from the File menu.
Calculated Fields in Charts
Perform record-level calculations and analyze the results instantly.
Caspio’s Chart engine includes aggregation functions allowing you to consolidate data from multiple records into a single data point. In addition to aggregation, Charts can now also execute single record calculations allowing you to perform complex data manipulation before computing a final aggregate.
Single record calculations provide an additional level of plasticity for data analysis and business intelligence purposes. Using a Chart DataPage your users can query your database records, perform complex per-record calculations, aggregate the data of related records, and visually evaluate the final resulting dataset, all within one, agile, infinitely-embeddable DataPage interface.
Improved Date and Currency Validation
Intuitive input validation helps standardize your data.
Getting a user to enter numerical data in the correct format just got easier. Text field elements based on number fields now accept the currency symbol and place separators as configured in your DataPage’s localization. To ensure data integrity, these characters will be automatically removed when transferred to your table, and the resulting data can be displayed again as currency whenever necessary.
Date and Time input has also been streamlined. When a user enters a date without entering a year value, the current year will be added by default. These additions simplify form input and help increase both completion rates and internal data consistency.
