Tech Tip: Dynamically Add Options to Dropdowns and Listboxes
Have you ever come to a dropdown that was missing an option suitable for your situation? How do you, as a Caspio App developer, ensure your users avoid this annoyance? This week’s Tech Tip shows how you can add a dynamic “Add-an-Option” popup to add options to both dropdowns and listboxes in both public facing and internal business apps.

Now your users can simply add a new option to your dropdowns and listboxes if needed. What’s better, we’ve included two different methods. You can choose if the newly added option should be immediately visible to all users (internal business apps) or visible only to the user who submitted it, pending administrator approval (public facing apps).
Now users will not be forced to make less than ideal selections and you can also receive valuable insight into your users’ activities as they add new content to your dropdowns and listboxes.
Add an add-an-option popup to:
Internal Business Dropdowns and Listboxes – Options are immediately visible
Public Facing Dropdowns and Listboxes – Options are visible only to submitting user pending approval
