Placeholder Text

Placeholder text can be added to any Caspio form to display helpful text inside an input field. Placeholders appear in a lighter color and automatically disappear as soon as the user clicks inside the field, which is a common practice to improve the user experience of web forms.

This feature can be enabled for Text, Text Area, and Virtual fields in any form (Submission, Update, Details Page and Password Recovery).

The Placeholder option is available on the Advanced tab during field configuration in the DataPage wizard. You can enter text, HTML or parameters in the placeholder area.

Note: This feature uses HTML5 which is a newer standard and not supported by some outdated browsers such Internet Explorer 9. Placeholder text is currently supported in IE 10 and higher, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari.
