Edit an App with Caspi
2 minutes to readCaspi works on apps that already exist, not only new ones. Ask for a change in the Designer and Caspi makes it in place, whether that is a new field, a different theme color, or a rearranged page. Caspi changes what you asked about and leaves the rest alone.
Change app objects
- On the Flex applications list, open the app you want to change.
- In the left navigation, select Designer.
- Open Caspi from the header panel.
- Describe the change you want, naming the object it applies to.
- Review what Caspi reports back, then continue the conversation to adjust it.
Caspi can add fields to a table, add or remove fields on a DataPart, create and delete AppPages and DataParts, rename objects, create relationships, and edit interactive controls. For the full list, see Caspi overview.
Customize a theme
In the Theme editor, Caspi has the context of the current theme structure and the full set of Caspio variables, so you can describe the result you want and let Caspi map it to the variables that produce it.
- Open the Theme editor for the segment you want to restyle.
- Open Caspi and describe the styling change, for example a darker blue on the primary buttons or a larger base font size.
- Caspi identifies the matching variables and updates them. The preview updates as each variable changes.
- Keep the conversation going to refine the result, then save the theme.
Rearrange an AppPage
In the Flex Designer, where Caspi already creates DataParts, it can also move and resize them within the page grid.
- Open the AppPage in the Designer.
- Open Caspi and describe the arrangement you want, naming the DataParts.
- Caspi adjusts position, grid column span, and height to match.
