Set Up Your Organization
3 minutes to readSetting up an organization takes three steps: verify your domain, name the organization, and confirm the administrator email address. After setup, you connect your identity provider so members can sign in with SSO.
Before you begin
- You need a Caspio account where you are the account owner or an administrator.
- That account must have a verified domain matching your Caspio ID. For example, if your Caspio ID is
you@acme.com, the account needsacme.comverified. - Your organization’s domain comes from your Caspio ID, so confirm you are signed in with the correct Caspio ID before you start.
- You need the SAML 2.0 metadata from your identity provider to complete SSO configuration.
Set up your organization
- On the Set up your organization page, under Verify organization domain, select an account from the Caspio account list.
- The Organization domain field fills in automatically from your Caspio ID and cannot be edited. Only users whose Caspio ID uses this domain can be added to the organization.
- Under Name your organization, enter a name in Organization name. This name appears throughout the organization interface.
- Under Organization administrator email address, confirm the Administrator email. This is your Caspio ID and cannot be edited.
- Select Finish setup.
If the account you select has no verified domain matching your organization’s domain, the Caspio account field shows an error and you cannot continue. To resolve it, either verify the domain in the selected account, or select a different account that already has the matching domain verified.
If the domain shown is not the one you want for your organization, update your Caspio ID to an address on the correct domain before continuing. The organization domain cannot be changed from this page.
Connect your identity provider
Members sign in to Caspio through your organization’s SSO, so the next step is connecting your identity provider. Caspio connects to SAML 2.0 identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and OneLogin.
- Select the Settings tab.
- On the Single sign-on (SSO) card, select Configure.
- Under Service provider information, copy the values your identity provider needs from Caspio. Select the copy icon next to a value to copy it.
- Service provider identifier (Entity ID)
- Reply URL (Assertion consumer service URL)
- Logout URL
- Under Identity provider information, enter these values from your identity provider:
- Identity provider identifier (required)
- Single sign-on URL (required)
- Logout URL (optional)
- Provide the SAML signing certificate (X.509). Select From file (.cer or .crt) and select Upload file, or select Paste your certificate and enter the certificate text.
- Select Save.
After setup
With the organization created and SSO active, you can:
- Add Caspio accounts to the organization. See Manage accounts.
- Add people to the organization. See Manage members.
Remember that these steps establish membership and scope only. To let a member actually use an account, an account administrator grants them access inside that account.
