AI Agents
2 minutes to readAn AI agent defines which AI model answers your app users, how it behaves, and which knowledge bases it can reference. You create an agent once in AI tools, then select it in the Chat AI Agent of any Flex app.
Create an AI agent
- In the left navigation, select AI tools.
- On the Agents tab, select Create agent.
- In Agent name, enter a name that is unique in your account.
- Optionally, in Description, describe what the agent is for, so other app developers know when to use it.
- Under Settings, select the AI provider: OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
- In AI model, keep Automatic to use the provider’s current default model, or select a specific model. Some AI models use more Caspio Credits than others.
- Set the effort level. It is named Reasoning effort for OpenAI and Thinking effort for Anthropic and Google. Higher levels improve accuracy but take longer to respond.
- In Agent purpose, describe what the agent is for, up to 1,000 characters.
- Optionally, in In-scope topics, list the subjects the agent answers, up to 2,000 characters, and in Tone, describe how the agent sounds, up to 500 characters.
- Under Knowledge, in Instructions, enter how the agent responds and what it can reference, up to 10,000 characters.
- In Knowledge bases, select up to 10 knowledge bases for the agent to use.
- Select Create.
Use an AI agent in a Flex app
- In your Flex app, select Designer.
- On the canvas, select the Chat AI Agent.
- In the right panel, under Configuration, in Agent, select the agent.

Delete an agent
- In AI tools, on the Agents tab, point to the agent and select Delete.
- If an app uses the agent, the dialog lists each application, Segment, and Chat AI Agent that uses it. In New agent, select the agent that replaces it.
- Select Delete and replace.
