Record level security is a feature of Authentication. It allows you to restrict access to records based on the current user’s profile data.
With record level security, you can allow access based on:
- Records that were created by the current user
- Records that were assigned to them personally
Alternatively, you can also restrict record access based on an individual’s department or group. Record level security can also be used to reduce the number of visible options in dropdown fields and listboxes.
If your DataPage requires a Connection or Authentication, Record Level Security appears in the Search Type screen for Report, Calendar, and Chart DataPages. Click Restrict record access based on user identity to correctly identify a record for the user, you need to match the identity field used in the connection or authentication data source with a matching field in the DataPage data source.
