DataPages

 

The fundamental building blocks of your apps, DataPages are the interface between your data and the outside world.  These articles will show you in detail all of the options available to you when creating DataPages.

Caspio Bridge offers the following types of DataPages:

Forms

Submission Form

Update Form

Password Recovery DataPage

 Submission Forms are used to capture data such as text, numbers, files and images. They can be configured to generate and send automatic acknowledgement and notification emails. Examples of Submission Forms include surveys and contact-us forms.Update Forms are used to display and edit existing information.Create an automated application which will allow your authenticated users to request their password be sent to them via email. After the user submits the request, the application will validate the user’s identity and automatically send the password via email.

Reports

Report DataPage

Combined Chart and Report DataPage

 Reports are multi-page, feature-rich DataPages. They can be configured to have any of the following:

  • Search – An interactive or pre-defined search query for data filtering.
  • Results – A different results view that may also be configured to allow adding, editing, or deleting data. An optional automatic paging mechanism is available in this view for large tables.
    • Tabular – Search results are shown in a table.
    • Gallery – Search results are displayed in a grid of multiple rows and columns.
    • List – Search results are shown in a vertical list, one record after the other.
    • Details – Skips the results page and go directly to the Details Page of the first matching record. This option is ideal when you are certain there is only one record matching the search criteria.
  • A detailed view that allows users to drill-down to a specific record. Any field in this view can be configured to be editable.

Reports can generate automatic emails when data is modified.

Examples include customer management systems, issue tracking systems, product inventory systems, knowledge base systems, etc.

Combined Chart and Report DataPages are similar to Search and Report DataPages. Search results in this DataPages are shown in a table and in a chart simultaneously.

Calendars

Calendar DataPage

 Calendar DataPages are very similar to Reports DataPages. They also can be configured to have any of the following:

  • An interactive or pre-defined search query for data filtering.
  • A results screen where matching records are displayed in a calendar format.
  • An optional details page where one record is displayed and some or all fields may be editable.

Charts

Chart DataPage

 Chart DataPages are also very similar to Report DataPages. They also can be configured to have any of the following:

  • Search – An interactive or pre-defined search query for data filtering.
  • A results screen where matching records are displayed in a chart format.

Mobile

WML Submission Form

WML Update Form

 WML Submission Forms are very similar to Submission Forms but work in WAP browsers on mobile devices.  They can be configured to generate and send automatic acknowledgement and notification emails.WML Update Forms are used to display and edit existing information.

Custom

HTML DataPage

 Create a simple web page by inserting your own HTML source code. Ideal for displaying messages such as “Submission successful” or “Update received” after a Submission Form has been submitted. These DataPages are also great for adding a menu system or opening screen to your application.
